When we harness breath, we use our body to tell our mind to slow down. In moments of stress, our breathing becomes short and shallow. But taking slow, deep breaths is a quick-fix and a calming method.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By aiding relaxation, controlled breathing lowers the impact of the stress hormone (cortisol) on your body and even improves core muscle stability.
