Did You Know, Everyone Has Abs? (Part 2/3)

Ever met a skinny person and for whatever reason, with absolutely no working out whatsoever, they already have abs? How is this possible?

This is because in people with low body fat, the ab muscles are easier to view externally. Understand it this way, just because you are fat, doesn’t mean you don’t have muscle. You actually do. In fact, your muscles need to be much stronger than a skinny person with very low body fat since you have to carry your weight around. Therefore, by default, your muscles are much stronger than you think they are. You simply need to chip off the weight just like a sculptor chips away at a block of marble in order to reveal the beautiful masterpiece.

Remember the term for the lines that define the six-pack or four pack?

Correct, it’s called the tendinous intersections (packs).

So you’re saying I have abs… Then why can’t I see them?

Well, I have good news for you. Your ab muscles exist. It doesn’t matter if you’re big or small, fat or thin, lazy or hardworking. They exist because quite frankly, without them, you wouldn’t be able to move. So the next time you think “I wish I had abs”, think again because guess what, you’ve got them. Okay. Then how do I see them? How do I make them visible? What do I need to do?The answer: Low Body Fat.

So how many ab muscles do I have? Is it just one?

There are five main muscles that exist in your abdomen:

  1. Rectus Abdominis.
  2. Pyramidalis.
  3. External Obliques.
  4. Internal Obliques.
  5. Transversus Abdominis.
